PCM2706C: Inquiry for vendor ID, product ID setting and HID function

Part Number: PCM2706C

Hi, TI support team

Regarding PCM2706C, I have received some questions as below.

1. The data sheet states that the Vendor ID and Product ID can be changed using External ROM among the PCM2706C functions.

Please tell me how to change Vendor ID and Product ID.

If External ROM is not used, are vendor ID and product ID set to Default Value?

2. It says that you can change Volume Up, Down, and Mute using the HID key.

If the power is rebooted, will the settings be maintained? Or is it automatically converted to the (Volume)default value?

Thanks.

Regards,

MJ

  • Hi MJ,

Section 9.3.7 gives the process for changing the descriptors from external ROM, including an example in 9.3.8. If external ROM isn't used, the descriptors will be the defaults described in the data sheet.

The HID acts more like an interrupt to the host, rather than a device setting. So when power is cycled the settings will be reset unless the host has some kind of memory.

    Best regards,
    Jeff McPherson
