TAS6424-Q1: TAS6424LS-Q1

Part Number: TAS6424-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS6424LS-Q1

Hello, I'm using the TAS6424LS-Q1 IC for vehicle project.

In my test pre-condition is below.

BTL mode

Input audio : 0dB

AMP setting : 0dB volue, 15V peak output voltage

In this situation, I use the PVDD with 15.5V and the clip detection is not detected for connected 1 channel speaker(4ohm).

But the PVDD with 14.4V, the clip detection is detected. I think that this detection is alright. Is it okay?

Additionl, I ask that if the case of PVDD with 15.5V in not clip detection environment (only 1 channel), if the speaker additional connection for 4channel, it will be effect to clip detection?

Please reply my question, Thank you.

Best regards,

  • Hi Yeon

I think your input 0dB may not the same with AP 0dBFS input. Because 0dBFS input will have serious clip, with 14.4V or 15.5V PVDD.

We could use oscilloscope to check the output waveform, to see if you could find clip at 14.4V with your working condition. The behavior could be correct.

For 4CH using, as long as your power supply not limiting the current, the results would be the same with 1CH using. And 4 channel Clip will be reported separately at register 0x24.
