TAS5825MEVM: "Device B"(woofer) has noise

Part Number: TAS5825MEVM

When I use TAS5825MEVM Board, choose Stereo 2.2 W/T

"Device A" import Char Data "Speaker.ppc3", "Device B" import Char Data "Woofer.ppc3", use TAS5825MEVM Board to play voice => Speaker sound is normal, but Woofer sound has noise

Swap the two
"Device A" import Char Data "Woofer.ppc3", "Device B" import Char Data "Speaker.ppc3", becomes => Woofer sound is normal, Speaker sound has noise.
It is confirmed that the two TAS5825MEVM Boards have the same problem. "Device B" cannot play the voice smoothly.
How should this be handled?

Hi jesse

The files of ppc3.zip include Speaker.ppc3 / Woofer.ppc3 / Speaker+Woofer.ppc3

The PVDD is set to 5.2V for TAS5825MEVM board

Because the PVDD is set to 15Vdc, the Woofer will be burned when playing voice (The meter measured 26Vac)

hi Jock

just a suspicious, for our evm using the device A sdout as the data input to device B.

so if your both chips are independent, device B should use the i2s signal directly, not the data processed by Device A DSP.

so i recommend change as below to device A.

btw, usually woofer should not be stereo signal, if so, the setting in woofer should be (L+R)/2.

I tried setting Device A to "Pre" and Woofer to (L+R)/2,

But Woofer will still have noise when playing voice.

several points we can try:

1.decreasing volume of device B, can this noise disappear?

maybe some variance exist in speaker calibration, large increase in Smart Bass might lead to excursion over speaker spec.

2.you can take a try disable the model in device B to see which model might leading to this problem.

about 2, you mean even disable all feature in device A and B, the noise still happen?

about 2, disable all feature in device B, Woofer no noise.

I found that Enable "Bypass Xmax", device B will not cause noise.

Are the "Smart Bass" settings normal?

i suspect that you might need adjusting below para to get an optimal effect.

as you can see in the Magnitude Plot, it increase a lot at low band, when trigger some limitation of Xmax, the attack/suppress will happen.

un-appropriated parameter will lead to some bad effect.
