TAS2781: How to use smart amp function without XMOS

I'm reviewing a new amp chip and I'm reviewing TAS2781

because the functionality of smart amp is attractive.
It is essential that I need PPC software.

I looked at the document and the circuit configuration of the evm and found out that the connection structure of xmos was necessary.
I cannot put xmos in the product.

Do I need to apply it to the actual product after doing the tune on EVM to run the tune or any other function in PPC? Or is there another way?

Hi Hyosang,

XMOS is only used on the EVM to allow easy testing with USB connection to PC. this IC only handles USB-> I2S/I2C conversion. it is not needed in the end product. all smart amp algorithms will be running inside TAS2781 itself.

to evaluate the device without using the XMOS you can

-remove J24 and connect external I2S/TDM source to J28 input header

- insert J25 and connect external I2C to input header J28
