am using one TLV320AIC14K in my circuit as a stand alone slave, can i use an external crystal oscillator to generate 20mhz clock for the MCLK of the TLV320AIC14K, and then use the microcontroller to generate my sclk

Hi Christian,

I don't recommend this. The SCLK must be synchronous with the MCLK and if the two sources are different it will be nearly impossible to make them synchronous.
