TCA 2465 power opamp replacement needed MANY 1000's

so i was thinking i could use an OPA2544 on a mini pcba "pin swapper" and appropriate connections for pins that differ from the TCA 2465  to get a 9 pin sip package (5 tca’s were used and whomever designed the circuity that used it simply MONKEYED it!!!!!!!!!!!!  Used as fan motor drivers, and environmental control (flapper) contol.  They fail like mad and the TCA’s are just not available anymore so I think I could use this chip as a replacement or does anyone have a better thought(s)

HELP -pleeeeeeze!  1000's of units each using 5 tca's (or) opa's

    Hi Roland,

    It does look like the OPA2544 is a similar IC, albeit with some better specifications. Without knowing your design requirement details, it looks like the OPA2544 has a higher current limit, slew rate and supply voltage and probably most importantly a lower package thermal resistance for driving power. Based on these specs compared to the TCA 2465, I'm sure that the OPA2544 would perform more than adequately. Another option that you may also want to consider is the LM1876. This is a similar part to the OPA2544 with the added benefit of having a highly protected output stage through its SPiKe Protection. There are some slight specification pluses and minuses with the LM1876 over the OPA2544, so I'll let you evaluate their differences, but either part could replace the TCA2465.

    Well thanks JD i'll look over the alternate part you suggested - R

    The beefed output protection is a welcome addition since whomever designed the darn thing musta had a deal with the chip maker - try to find any?
