TAS5721 Audio Amplifier Headphone Shutdown Question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5721
Hi Diego,

A question regarding the headphone amplifier shutdown pin (39 DR_SD) of the TAS5721 Audio Amplifier.  When in shutdown, I assume the output of the amplifier stage enters a hi-Z state?  Is the amplifier pass-through during shutdown?  Thanks.

  • Hi Dave,

As your latest question is related to a different topic I have moved it to a different thread. The DR_SD  pin acts as the shutdown for the headphone/driver only, the outputs of the amplifier don't get affected by this. The amplifier can be put in a shutdown state via software only, via register 0x05. When this happens, the outputs of the amplifier are effectively placed in Hi-Z state.

    Best Regards,
