Hi Dave,
As your latest question is related to a different topic I have moved it to a different thread. The DR_SD pin acts as the shutdown for the headphone/driver only, the outputs of the amplifier don't get affected by this. The amplifier can be put in a shutdown state via software only, via register 0x05. When this happens, the outputs of the amplifier are effectively placed in Hi-Z state.
