Welcome to the wireless audio discussion forum!

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC8520, CC2510

Hi!

Welcome to this new forum section on wireless audio. The background for this initiative is that we are seeing more and more of you designing wireless audio solutions, and we want to fascilitate discussions and technical support on the matter.

Most of you have probably noticed our ongoing campaign on the new CC8520

This is a "turnkey" solution which enables you to wirelessly transmit I2S audio data (16 bits / 48kHz ) from A to B without loss (except when you start walking out of range of course - then our device will eventually mute the audio) - so it's tailored for HiFI quality applications. If you have questions on the part itself or the development kit (CC85XXDK) post it here!

Here's a video of our dev.kit : http://engineeringtv.com/video/CC8520-PurePath-Wireless-Audio

We also have some design resources on the CC2510 and CC1110 RF system-on-chip parts for audio. Since the datarate is lower on CCxx10, these parts are more suited for voice or high-quality voice applications (think babycall, walkie-talkie, doorbell with audio, gaming microphone etc). However, as opposed to the CC8520, design resources are provided as code examples which need to be implemented by the designer:

Using I2S in CC111xFx and CC251xFx: http://focus.ti.com/lit/an/swra183/swra183.pdf

Good luck with your wireless audio design!
