For TLV320AIC3212 I2S gain setting

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3212

Dear Sirs

I use TLV320AIC3212 for MIC testing.

The path is shown as follow:

(From MIC in=>ADC=>I2S)

And I  want to set the gain when the source is changed to I2S format. And the I2S source will connect to AUDIO PRECISION Audio Analyzer to test performance.

  The Audio signal level is :

65dB SPL @1KHz Tone

76dB SPL @1KHz Tone

94dB SPL @1KHz Tone

How to adjust I2S signal gain?

  • Hi, Nat,

    There are few ways to adjust the I2S signal gain in the AIC3212. Actually, it would depend of the analog input and the channel to choose:

    - Analog inputs: There are many analog inputs in the AIC3212. Each input has its own gain level which can be configured from -12 dB to 0dB. Page 1 / Registers 52 to 57 are used to modify this gain.

    - PGA: There are two PGAs in the AIC3212. These PGAs can be configured with a gain of 0dB to 47.5dB in 0.5dB steps. Page 1 / Register 59-60 are used to modify these gains.

    - ADC Volume: Each ADC has its own gain level. In this case, the ADCs level can be modified with a fine and a normal gain. Page 0 / Registers 82 to 84 are used for these purposes.

    Please let me know if you have more questions or comments.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
