TPA3250 Pop Noise when power supply shut-down

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3250, TPA3250D2EVM, TPA3255EVM

Hi,

TPA3250 occurs Pop Noise when Power supply shut-down,

configuration mode is 2xBTL that is same schematic with TPA3250D2EVM.

Could you please tell me how to remove the pop up noise when Power shut down?

Best regards,

eric

  • Hello Eric,

It is suggested to put the amplifier into reset before removing the power to reduce noise.

On our EVMs, we use a voltage supervisor (U7) to manually toggle reset if the PVDD voltage falls below a threshold set by R32 and R26. The means the amplifier will shut down automatically if power is removed before the supply voltage falls to where the amplifier will be forced to shut down and cause pop.

See below schematic from the EVM User's Guide:

  • Hi,

I am using a TPA3255EVM which also implemented the above mentioned reset circuit by TI but the power on and power off pop still exists if I don't use the manual reset switch, any reason for that ?
