TAS5630B: TAS5630B application problem

Part Number: TAS5630B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3255, TAS5630

Hi,

when use TAS5630B to design a PBTL power subwoofer, we find a problem as below picture showing when rise the input signal slowly. The schematic is as the attachment , pls. help to check the reason. thx

  • Aggil,

Thanks for your post. Please let me know the following information:

    1. PVDD input voltage.

    2. Output Load.

    3. Output power level target?

    4. At what corresponding input voltage and output voltage range does the amplifier work and at what level does the output become unusual?

    5. Have you monitored the CLIP pin during this testing?

    Regards.

    -Adam

  • Adam,
    Hello,the answer of Aggil :
    1.+50V supply.
2.The same output with no load or 4Ohm load.
    3.35VAC output with 4Ohm load.
4.The vidio, it worked unusual at 5VAC output with balance input.
    5.We haven't.

    Regards.
    Bill
  • Bill,

Your settings and voltages seem correct so far.

What power supply are you using? What current can it supply?

Please repeat this test while monitoring the CLIP pin.

    Regards,

    -Adam

  • Hi Adam

customer use the switch AC/DC power supply , and this power can also driver TPA3255. So I think the output current is enough.

You can get the waveform of clip pin at below video, and pls. help to solve the problem , it is urgent , thx

  • Aggil,

According to your previous post, the strange output behavior happens at only 5VAC output?

The CLIP pin is also going low to show that there is an issue. Can the customer try a bench power supply to verify that the TAS5630 has enough current to operate?

Please ask the customer to check the input voltage at R204 and R205 closest to the device to make sure their input is not clipping and causing this.

    Regards,
    -Adam
  • Hi Adam,
thanks ,customer have solve the problem. the reason is the input signal is not balance.
