TAS5782MEVM: Content of the EEPROM on the TAS5782MEVM

Hi,

I'm using the TAS5782MEVM Board for development. Unfortunately the EEPROM on the board has been damaged (unable to read/write anymore, even with an external EEPROM reader). I've replaced the EEPROM with the same type.

Since then, I'm unable to work with PPC3, since during "Tuning and Audio Processing" it gets stuck at "Writing coefficents to device". In the System Check, it tells me that the FWID is invalid (most likely due to the empty EEPROM).

Is there any chance to get the binary of the original EEPROM for reflashing? Or is there at least a way to write the FWID, if yes, to which memory location?

Seems a bit unreasonable for me to dump a $200 Eval Board due to a $1 EEPROM...

Hi Stefan,

You probably see just a warning in the System Check, right? Usually an empty EEPROM should not prevent you from doing the tuning in the "Tuning and Audio Processing" window.

Let's program the FWID of your TAS5782MEVM first since you have already replace the eeprom.

Can you see the Firmware Editor when you launch the PPC3 GUI in your PC?

Hi Andy,
Unfortunately I can't see the Firmware editor in PPC3, I just have two entries for the TAS5782 and the I2C Master.

Hi,
I got a mail that I've been granted access to the TAS5780M-SW which also appears in my PPC3. Unfortunately there is still no sign from the Firmware Editor ...
Maybe your colleague choose the wrong software, TAS5780M-SW doesn't sound like a firmware editor package?
