TAS5558: TAS5558

Part Number: TAS5558
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5548

Hi Adam,

Thank you for support.

Can you please let me know the power consumption device spec of TAS5558 with below 2 condition?

1. 44.1KHz 16bit

2. 192KHz 24bit

Thank you for support.

  • Max,

I cannot measure this as it depends heavily on the customer register settings and modes of operation.

I would suggest that you or the customer use a TAS5558 EVM to evaluate this. I can send you one if needed.

    Regards,

    -Adam

  • Hi Adam,

Please send 1 evm. and this is customer address.

    INKEL R&D Mr. Sinhyung Lee

    3-8,Cheongcheon-dong Bupyeong-gu,Incheon Korea of republic (21311)

    Thank you.

  • Hi Adam,

Can you please let me know Pd(power dissipation) fomula of TAS5558? (if you have any example excel file, it will be more helpful)

    Thanks in advance.
  • Max,

I have sent two EVMs and 5 bare ICs (TAS5558). Please note that the EVM is dual purpose. It comes with TAS5548 installed but this can be exchanged for TAS5558 that I have included. Please let me know if you need further instructions for swapping to TAS5558. The TAS5548 will operate the same except it uses the on board oscillator while TAS5558 uses MCLK.

I don't have the thermal formula for TAS5558. Would it help if I could provide the thermal model such as Icepack or Flowtherm?

    Regards,

    -Adam

  • Hi Adam,

    1. EVM : if it is TAS5548, you don't need to ship to customer. because my sales guy also requested TAS5548  evm a couple of days ago.

    2. Power dissipation calculation : Customer strongly requested Pd calculation because it is around 20degree temp increase at 192khz 24bit than 44.1khz 16bit.

and also, customer doesn't have thermal simulation program. can you please check it again?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Max,

The shipment should already be on the way to you. You can reject the order in the mail thread if you have not accepted already.

We don't have a power dissipation equation for this device.

    Regards,

    -Adam
