TAS5755M: Asking for the TAS5755 mute setting issue

Part Number: TAS5755M

Hi Team,
Customer uses TAS5755 on 3 wire connection.
However, the audio source send 32kHz WCLK 16bit I2S format.

Customer set 0x07 to 0xff or register 0x06 to 0x07 to mute the audio output, but fail.

Can you duplicate this case and provide your comment?

BR,
SHH

  • Hi Scott,
The 3-wire mode only works for 48/44.1kHz sampling rate and 32bit word width, because MCLK should be in the range of 2.8224~24.576MHz. This PLL requirement is mentioned in the datasheet.

  • Hi Shawn,

Customer spec needs support 32kHZ/ 44.1kHZ/ 48kHz in AMP.
But DSP sometimes output abnormal Fs, like 52KHz and 24KHz, to AMP, and Amp have the noise occur.
But customer cannot success mute the AMP to avoid the noise.
How to mute the AMP when Fs is not support or not standard from FW aspect?

  • Hi Scott,
Did you try to set Soft Mute Register (0x06)? The output is set to 50% duty cycle by writing 1 in the respective bit.
Could you show me the PWM output waveform with abmormal Fs(e.g. 52kHz)? I think the mute operation shouldn't be related to Fs setting.
    Best regards,
