PCM3168A: PCM3168A

Part Number: PCM3168A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM3168

Hi sir,

I am using PCM3168A in my project.

I am not using the DAC section and hence Vout+/-,  BCKDA , LRCKDA and DIN1-DIN4 are not in use. Please let me know if they can be left unconnected or how to terminate them.

Regards,

Shyama

  • Hi Shyama,

In case of DAC not being used on PCM3168, we recommend connecting all the digital input pins (CLK and Data input) to GND. It is recommended not to leave them floating and connect them to GND.

As a general guideline for analog inputs, since the analog inputs have a DC bias on them so they should not be shorted directly to GND.  The ~0.47uF capacitor provides an open-circuit for the DC bias inside the device, but provides an AC short to GND for proper termination and noise-reduction.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Ravi
