TAS5754M: Using TAS5754M DAC_OUTx as Line Out

Part Number: TAS5754M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5729MD, TAS5753MD, TAS5760MD

Dear TI,

In the prototype phase, we have used TAS5754M as the device power amplifier. After the device has been tested we have figure out that will be useful if we integrate Lineout jack. I have seen that TAS5457M integrates DAC_OUTx pins and I would like to know whether these pins can be used for the Lineout? In the datasheet, I didn't find any information on how to implement lineout or headphone output so I will appreciate if you share interconnection schematics too.

Looking forward to getting feedback from you.

Best regards.

  • Hello Miroslav,

We have specific devices in our portfolio that have an integrated line driver & headphone amplifier such as the TAS5753MD, TAS5760MD, and the TAS5729MD. Their EVM documentation have schematics on how to integrate a lineout or headphone output for those devices.

The TAS5754M was designed to connect the DAC output to the differential speaker amplifier input on the device, so we cannot guarantee there won't be problems with the TAS5754M if you connect the DAC out to a discrete line driver so it would require additional testing and debugging on your end. We would recommend using the aforementioned devices if you did want to add those to your design since they have the line driver integrated in their IC.

    Best Regards,

    Luis

  • Hi Luis,

thanks for the replay you have provided. This has solved my doubts.
