TAS2110EVM: Standalone operation

Part Number: TAS2110EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2110

Hello,

We have a customer requesting for an application software of the TAS2110EVM. However, I've checked the product page TAS2110EVM, it says that the EVM is standalone.

Is my understanding correct that:
1. The TAS2110EVM does not have an application software because it works standalone;
2. The use will just need to configure it via PPC3; and,
3. The user can then simply input the audio through the I2S, then EVM will work?

Thank you for your help!

  • HI, Elisha,

    The TAS2110EVM is fully controlled by PPC3. The users need to request access to both PPC3 and the TAS2110 plug in to have fully access to the controls of the EVM. For a correct EVM configuration, I would suggest to follow the indications of section 5.3 ("EVM Setup") of the User's Guide:

    https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slau809/slau809.pdf#page=4

    It is considered as a standalone board since it doesn't require of an additional board to work (the most part of our TAS devices require of a learning board or others to work correctly).

    The audio data can be sent via USB since it has an integrated XMOS, which converts the USB stream into I2S data. If external data is required, the I2S jumpers can be removed to connect external I2S stream.

    Please let me know if you have additional questions or comments.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
