TAS2563: Boost bypass with voltages under 5.5V

TAS2563 support,

For an application that uses an external PVDD source at 5V, can the following pins all be connected together?

VBAT

VBST

PVDD

The datasheet shows VBAT and SW connected, and then the FAQ post I referenced here shows the VBAT and SW not connected. I believe this is because the post is giving advice for applications where PVDD and SW voltage is over 5.5V. Can you confirm this please?

Hello Darren,

To use external PVDD, VBAT and SW should in fact be "opened". It is a mistake in the datasheet, and it should be fixed in the next edition.

Regarding both 5V VBAT and PVDD "shorting" together it is not recommended. From past application testing, we recommend to power on VBAT before powering PVDD. However, VBST and PVDD can be shorted as per application schematic
