PCM1860-Q1: Power Sequence

Part Number: PCM1860-Q1

please tell me about power sequencing

1. When should the IOVDD be at start up? Is it ok to apply same time as DVDD and AVDD?

2. regarding to Figure 71. Separate 3.3 V for AVDD and DVDD, customer will have some cap on each pins, which makes slight difference in rise time, and DVDD/IOVDD comes earlier than AVDD. Is there any issue? is it possible to cause leakage current from supply to supply?

3. what is recommended shut down sequence? there will be slight time difference between DVDD/IOVDD and AVDD same reason as #2. Is there any issue?

4. what is required power cycle interval? (on-off interval)

  • Hi Takuma,

PCM186x is very robust for power supplies and there are not strict sequencing requirements. It is okay if the rails come up together or at slightly different times as the device waits until AVDD and DVDD are present before powering up.

We don't have a strict power cycle time defined so I would just design conservatively if possible. I think 10ms should be more than sufficient.

    Best,

    Zak
