TAS5634: Need Power Stages to Support 400W at 2ohm PBTL / 200W at 4ohm BTL

Hi Sirs,

Do we have a power stage to support load conditions of 400W, 1%THD+N at 2ohm PBTL and 200W, 1% THD+N at 4ohm BTL?
The TAS5634 can achieve 400W at 3ohm PBTL and 200W at 6ohm BTL which cannot meet customer's requirements.

TAS5634 can support 200W, 1% THD+N at 4ohm.

Thanks a lot. Is it doable for 400W, 1% THD+N at 2ohm BTL load? We need BU’s help to generate an official letter or datasheet change to confirm 200W, 1% THD+N at 4ohm BTL load.

Hi Wayne,

We don't see any risk on using TAS5634 to support,

400W, 1%THD+N at 2ohm PBTL
200W, 1% THD+N at 4ohm BTL

The original reason we set the minimum load impedance as the value in d/s is thermal and ringing voltage concerns.

In your case, we suggest to set the PVDD supply voltage at lower level than the max in datasheet. For example, for 200W/4R BTL, 45V should be a good choice. This will give us more margin on the thermal design and the power FET voltage stress.

Hi Wayne,

It could be the same value as 45V, or maybe you can use 48V for both cases as it's a more common value. The value is set to just cover the output power needing.
