LMX2594: USB connection

Part Number: LMX2594
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5529, USB2ANY

Hello
Currently, I manufactured LMX2594EVM (SV601308) and the reference board (SV601349A) by referring to the circuit diagram and gerber that provided. As I know, reference board can be connected to the PC through a USB connection and controlled by a program called 'TICS PRO'. However, even with USB connection, 'TICS PRO' does not recognize the board.(In the program, it is displayed as 'Connection Mode: Device Not Connected'.)

I think 'TICS PRO' cannot recognize the MSP430F5529 Chip in the reference board, is there anything additional to do to use 'TICS PRO'?

Additionally, when the reference board was connected to the PC by usb connection, the voltage of the specific pins of the MSP430F5529 Chip was as follows.

pin no. 57: 0.1V , pin no. 58: 0.1V , pin no. 59: 0V , pin no. 60: 0V

  • Lidong,

I suspect either your USB2ANY didn't get programmed or it's dead. Fortunately there's a way to check.

The thread in the link has a download for the USB2ANY SDK, which includes a tool called the USB2ANY firmware loader. You can install the SDK, run the firmware loader, and check if a device is recognized when you plug it into the USB2ANY port. If you get a device, and it's just "unknown" firmware, that's good, the USB2ANY is still alive, someone just forgot to program it and now you can instead.Later TICS Pro will automatically update the USB2ANY to the correct firmware revision for the software. On the other hand, if no device shows up even in USB2ANY firmware loader, your USB2ANY is dead and there's probably no easy way to recover it, you need a new one.

Make sure TICS Pro is closed while you run USB2ANY firmware loader.

    Regards,

    Derek Payne
