LMX2595EVM: LMX2595EVM

Part Number: LMX2595EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2595

Hello,

1) How to reduce the frequency drift in output. As it is stated that the drift in reference frequency is reflected at the output, But in that case the reference frequency is clean and has no frequency drift. Can I consider this variation and calculate ppm based on frequency drift, what is the ppm of LMX2595.

 2) If the order of loop filter is changed then the tuning voltage to the VCO changes, I have used TI PLLatinum Sim software to design loop filter and optimized phase noise.

  • Hi Singam,

If the PLL is locked, the drift of the VCO will follow the drift from the reference clock. If the PLL is unlock, then it would be another story.

Tuning voltage does not change with the order of loop filter but temperature and VCO frequency.
