LMK04832: LMK04832

Part Number: LMK04832

HI,

We are planning to use LMK04832 in our design.

We need 9 LVCMOS clock output all in phase.

In datasheet and TICS Pro, the output configurations are  given like Norm/Norm, Norm/Off, Inv/Inv....
As per my understanding for a configuration Norm/Off, CLKoutx will be Norm and CLKoutx* will be off.
Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

As per datasheet, its not recommended to use Norm/Norm and Inv/Inv output configuration.
So we are planning to take one Norm output from CLKout1, 3, 5, 7, 9,10, 11, 13 and OSCout. (Norm/off or Off/ Norm)
But for CLKout1, 7, 10 and 11 have Norm/Off configurations and CLKout3, 5, 9, 13 have Off/Norm output configuration. ( Oscout supports both).

Does this mean that I have to use CLKoutx pins for Norm/off configuration and CLKoutx* pins for Norm/Off configuration?

Please suggest.

Best Regards,
Shafeeq

  • Hi Shafeeq,

In datasheet and TICS Pro, the output configurations are  given like Norm/Norm, Norm/Off, Inv/Inv....
As per my understanding for a configuration Norm/Off, CLKoutx will be Norm and CLKoutx* will be off.

    This should be correct.

My understanding is that Norm/Off means CLKoutx = non-inverting output, CLKoutx* = no output as you said, and conversely Off/Norm means CLKoutx = no output, CLKoutx* = non-inverting output. So for the pins you configure as Norm/Off (1, 7, 10, 11) you should sample CLKoutx, and for the pins you configure as Off/Norm (3, 5, 9, 13) you should sample CLKoutx*. And OSCout can be configured either way.

    Best,
