I would like to add one LMX2594PSEVM in Fig.2 to the LMX2594PSEVM Evaluation Kit in Fig.1 and perform the following evaluation while synchronizing four LMX2594s.

①phase adjustment

I want to synchronize the four LMX2594s and adjust the phase or delay time of each of the four LMX2594s.

②Amplitude adjustment

I want to adjust the amplitude of each of the four LMX2594s while synchronizing the four LMX2594s.

③frequency adjustment

Keeping 4 LMX2594s in sync and adjusting the frequency of each 4 LMX2594

I want the LMX2594 to oscillate at different frequencies.

Is it possible to perform experiments ① to ③ using this LMX2594PSEVM Evaluation Kit and one LMX2594PSEVM?

Hi Ono-san,

Yes, this is possible but you need to be very careful with the distribution of the reference clock and SYNC signal synchronously.

After setting up the boards, you need to measure these signals first, to ensure they reach to the individual LMX device at the same time, before you attempt to do synchronization.

Hi Ono-san,

You can open two TICS Pro in the same PC, so a PC can control two boards.

When using four LMX2594s in synchronized operation, does the initial phase change each time the power to the LMX2594s is turned on and off?
This is my biggest concern when using multiple LMX2594s.

Hi Ono-san,

A Vcc power up will trigger internal POR and reset the device, we need to program all the registers and once all the devices have been programmed, we can synchronize them.
