Tool/software:
I'm unable to replicate the example simulated phase noise with PLLatinum Sim for the LMX2694EPEVM as shown on pg 77 of the LMX2694 datasheet because of the VCO Noise. The VCO Noise values for the VCO selected in Figure 8-10 (VCO3) are -157.2 for 1/f^3, -145.6 for 1/f^2, and -169.1 for the floor. This information can be found in the "OSC, PLL, and VCO Noise" section in the "Phase Noise" tab. While these values are consistent with the datasheet, they are significantly higher than what the VCO Noise appears to be in Figure 8-10.
Why does the plotted VCO phase noise in Figure 8-10 of the datasheet appear to be much lower than the datasheet values auto-populated by the PLLatinum Sim tool when using the same VCO (VCO3)?
What I'm expecting to see (notice the low VCO phase noise)
What I'm actually seeing (VCO phase noise is significantly higher and skews the total phase noise)
