Hello everybody,
I have a design which foresees one LMK04208 Clock Synthesizer and 3 cascading LMX2594 PLLs feeded by LMK04208's ClockOut0.
I am using TICS Pro v1.7.7.9 running on a Windows 11 machine.
LMK's ClkIn1 is generated by a 12.8MHz crystal, and the first loop of the LMK is used to adjust a VCXO with center frequency 122.88MHz.
The output clocks of the LMK are generated using the output of the 2nd loop PLL in the LMK,*400 3072MHz. ClkOut0 and ClkOut4 are set to 2457.6MHz, while the other clock outputs are set to 7.68MHz.
As regards LMX PLLs, they are fed by LMK's ClkOut0 and are set to give 2457.6MHz on both their outputs.
Once set all parameters correctly to get the wanted configuration, I exported the registers value to use them in the RFSoC SW for runtime programming.
There is no way to get both the LMK and the LMX components locked.
We tried using our RFSoC KIT supplier's configurations as starting point, we tried to use our register files "fixed" by our supplier, but it always gave either LMX or LMK unlocked or sometimes both.
I also tried to export registers' file after removing auto-update option, as it was suggested for TICS Pro v1.7.7.1 (LMK04208: Wrong configuration when importing register HEX values - Clock & timing forum - Clock & timing - TI E2E support forums), but always without success.
Our supplier sent me also the configuration in .tcs file and thecorresponding exported register values in a .txt file: settings resulted to be different, and no one worked.
I feel like we are wasting our time for something that was expected to be and should be straight forward.
Here below you can find our settings:
