Audio Clock generation from Video Clock

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE913, CDCEL913, LMH1983, CDCVF25084, TS5A63157

Hello,

In one of my application I am looking for generation of Audio Clock frequency of 24.576MHz from Video clock. The Video Clock can be 27MHz to 148.5MHz. I would like to know if there any TI Clock & Timings devices suggested for this application.

Regards,

Ritesh

  • Hello Ritesh,

CDCE913 or CDCEL913 could do the job.

    regards,
    Julian
  • Thanks Julian. In case of CDCE913, I hope there will not be ppm errors in case of any of the input frequencies, 148.5MHz, 148.5MHz,/1.001, 74.25MHz, 74.25MHz,/1.001 and 27MHz.

Also I am looking for the following,

    1. fixed clock multipliers x2, x4 with input clock frequency of 3.072MHz. Are these available in TI portfolio.

    2. zero delay 1:2 buffers and a switch or clock mux for the Video clock. I need to route the video clock coming from 2 sources to CDCE913. So I am thinking of 1:2 zero delay clock buffer and a clock switch or Mux. Are these available in TI portfolio.

    Regards,

    Ritesh

  • Hi Ritesh,
1, For 24.576MHz clock generator, could you consider LMH1983 in your system? It is a powerful device.
    2, For multiplier for 3.072MHz & zero-delay buffer, TI has X4 device CDCVF25084. It is 1:8 zero-delay buffer. That's easy to get divider by 2 from CPLD/logic.
3, For mux, analog switch TS5A63157 could be a choice.
