LMK04610: LMK04610

Part Number: LMK04610
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DSLVDS1047,

We are planning on using the LMK04610 with an LVDS input to the CLKin input. Figure 19 in the data sheet show  the recommended termination for an LVDS signal driving a CLKin or the OSCin input. However when I look at tables 7.6 and 7.7 in the data sheet the differential input voltage Vid,pp for CLKinX and OSCin  is min=0.4v and max-=3.3v.  This doesn't appear to be compatible with a typical LVDS driver, such as the DSLVDS1047, with a differential output Vod of min =0.250V and max=0.450V and typical = 0.310V.

Are the inputs of the LMK04610 compatible with a ANSI/TIA/EIA-644 LVDS input?

Kent

  • Hi Kent,

Referring to Figure 9 in the LMK04610 datasheet, Vid,pp is defined as 2 x Vid. Referring to Figure 18 in the DSLVDS1047 datasheet, Vod is defined by the difference between DOUT+ and DOUT-. So Vod,pp would be 2 x Vod. Comparing Vod,pp(min) of DSLVDS1047 to Vid,pp(min) of LMK04610, we see that DSLVDS1047 exceeds the LMK04610 specification minimum by about 25% (100mV) worst case.

The LMK04610 inputs are compatible with TIA/EIA-644-A LVDS inputs.

    Regards,
