LMK04610: No output at bypass 2A mode

Part Number: LMK04610

Hi team,

1. Customer use 200MHz  OSCin input frequency, by passPLL1, only use PLL2, but get no output except OSCout. What reason may cause this?

2. OSCin, OLL1 and 2 all bypass, then no output at oscout, what reason may cause this? Thanks.

  • Hi Jeff,

    1. Usually when there are no other outputs on LMK04610 it can be because the VCO-to-output buffers are disabled, the outputs are not enabled, the output formats are not specified, or the outputs are being held in a divider reset state due to a SYNC pulse.

    • Check PLL2_EN_BUF_CLK_BOTTOM and PLL2_EN_BUF_CLK_TOP (should be enabled)
    • Check OUTCHx_LDO_MASK settings (should be disabled for output enabled)
    • Check OUTCHx_DRIV_MODE is set to a value other than powerdown
    • Confirm SYNC state is not high based on SYNC pin settings and EN_SYNC_PIN_FUNC, INV_SYNC_INPUT_SYNC_CLK, SYNC_PIN_FUNC, and GLOBAL_SYNC settings
    • Confirm outputs are not set as SYSREF with some non-continuous pulse count

    2. Again, a few reasons:

    • Confirm OSCIN_BUF_TO_OSCOUT_EN is set, and OSCOUT_SEL_SRC is choosing OSCin as the source
    • Confirm OSCIN_OSCINSTAGE_EN is set
    • Ensure OSCOUT_DRV_TYPE is set to a value other than powerdown

If the customer still has a problem after making these adjustments, please include the .tcs file (preferred) or the hex registers (if .tcs file is not available) with their settings for my review.

    Regards,
