CDCE6214: What is procedure to get the factory programmable Device.

Part Number: CDCE6214
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TICSPRO-SW

Hi...,

We are using the clock generator CDCE6214TWRGERQ1in our design. The requirement is 1: 4 clock outputs are generator using CDCE6214TWRGERQ1.

And would like to know how to set the output clocks without using I2C bus and What is procedure to get the factory programmable Device.

Thank you!!!

Regards,

Gajendiran A

  • Hello Gajendiran,

You must program the EEPROM by following the EEPROM programming sequence outlined in the datasheet, section 10.5.2. Whenever you program the EEPROM, you must be connected to the device via I2C. Any I2C compatible programmer should work, including off-board programmers connected only once during factory initialization. Once the EEPROM is programmed, the device will start up from one of the EEPROM pages (selected by the state of the HW_SW_CTRL pin at POR).

You can generate the complete register configuration in TICS Pro (TICSPRO-SW), load it to the device to evaluate and confirm functionality, and export the register settings or the EEPROM settings as raw hexadecimal. By following the process outlined in the datasheet section 10.5.2.3, you can either load the register settings to the device volatile memory and then copy volatile memory to EEPROM, or directly write an EEPROM image.

    Regards,
