ADS1298ECGFE-PDK: maximum data size & missing data

Part Number: ADS1298ECGFE-PDK

Hello Experts,

While the ADS1298ECGFE-PDK recognizes that it can store data on a one-off (no deletions) and draw waveforms continuously (possibly gaps) using PC software, customer would like to know about two numbers of operation.

- What is the largest size that can be saved without missing raw data?
First, we're using only 1Ch and we're considering a sampling frequency of 2kHz.
It seems that Samples/Ch numbers were configurable up to 4294967295.

- How much of the missing setting value does successive acquisition occur?
Can I avoid this by adjusting the sampling frequency, samples/Ch, or the number of channels used?
If it is wrong, please let me know pointing it out.

Best Regards,
Fujiwara

  • Hi Fujiwara-san,

Thanks for the post. I will check with the team and get back to you.

    Thanks

  • Hi Fujiwara-san,

    Thank you for the patience.

We do not have the exact maximum number of samples that can be collected for all different conditions and testing scenarios. It is not the intention of the EVM to collect a significant amount of data. A few 10K samples are sufficient for most time and frequency domain analysis. The software GUI will throw an error when the limitation is reached in terms of memory usage.

The samples collected during a single capture will always be continuous without missing raw data. But consecutive data captures (successive acquisition) will have a gap of some size. The gap (missing raw data) will always be there regardless of the sampling frequency, samples/CH, or the number of channels used.

    Thanks
