ADS1292ECG-FE: Can't connect to computer

Thanks for the post.

The ADS1292 EVM should be preloaded with the firmware for evaluation. Are they able to see the EVM connected to the PC after installing the software GUI and USB driver? The EVM will be connected as a virtual COM port under Device Manager, as shown below.

Do they see the issue before or after reprogramming the firmware? Which firmware do they use to reprogram the MSP430? Please see below for some related posts for restoring the proper firmware if the current firmware is corrupted.

Hi Colin,

I am not sure if they have corrupted the original firmware that was preloaded in the EVM. Therefore, I suggest reinstalling all the device drivers as stated in Section 3 of the EVM user's guide. Please also refer to the FAQ below for the procedure to install the driver on Win 8/10 system. Section 7 shows the method to upgrade the firmware with the PC application.

Thanks, my customer solved it and have another two questions:

1. Their is a live ECG/RESP display window, and when they use it to see the collected signal, the amplitude is not the same as the amplitude of the input signal.

2. The sample rate is 500SPS, is this fixed?

Hi Colin,

Thanks for the support. It is good to know they are able to get the GUI to work. 

1. The data display in the Live ECG/RESP Display tab is post-processed with multiple digital filters. Please refer to Section 6.2 for Live Data Streaming Mode data filtering information. In addition, the device's internal SINC filter will have some attenuation for different output data rate. Please refer to Figures 25-29 in the datasheet for the SINC filter frequency response plots.

2. Yes, the sample rate is fixed at 500SPS for the Live ECG/RESP Display data capture. For the Analysis tab data capture, the sample rate can be changed through Channel Oversampling Ratio under the Global Channel Registers setting. Please see the image below for the highlighted data rate and its corresponding channel oversampling ratio setting.
