DAC8760EMC-EVM: DAC8760EMC-EVM

Part Number: DAC8760EMC-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8760

Hello,

I have recently received a DAC8760EMC-EVM along with a SM-USB-DIG. I have connected +/-15V supply to the DAC8760 EMV board and also connected the SM-USB-DIG between the USB port of my PC to the DAC EVAL board. But my Windows 10 is not able to detect an USB device connected. The software is popping up a message "check your hardware connection and re-boot the software". How to resolve this issue?

Regards,

Sanjib

  • Sanjib,

First, I would check to make sure that the EVM is set up correctly, with jumpers in the correct positions and power connected to the device in the correct locations. If you want you can send a picture of the EVM from the top view, and I can help review it.

When installing the software, it is important to run the installer executable with administrator privileges. You can uninstall the software and reinstall as administrator.  To uninstall the software, go to Control Panel, Programs, and find the "Uninstall a Program". When you do re-install the program, I believe that the USB-ANY should not be connected to the computer at that time.

Go ahead and try these two things, and let me know what you find.

  • Hi Joseph,

Thanks a lot for the suggestions!! Uninstalling the S/W and then installing the same with Admin privilege (and ensure no USB devices connected) helped in resolving my issue. Now I am able to connect to the DAC EVM and able to write to the registers...output is fine.

Only one thing I observed, that while installing, the installation software wanted to install some .Net packack, which it could not complete. Will there be any issue later?

    Regards,

    Sanjib

  • Sanjib,

Sorry, I was out of the office last week.

I'm not sure about the implications of the failure to install the .net files. For now if it works, I would just continue to use the EVM GUI. If problems arise, we can look into it later.
