I'm curious what the exact purpose of +VA is, like, what is it powering?
Does it need to be a low ripple source?
If yes, can I just power it from my voltage reference or is that a stupid thing to do?
The voltage reference I'm using is the REF5040AIDR which is rated for 10mA output. This ADC is the only thing using that ref.
Hi Henry,
I see that you have duplicate posts open. I will go ahead and respond to this one and close the other.
+VA is the analog supply so this will power all internal analog blocks. Typically, for higher performance devices (>16bits) we recommend that the device have a dedicated reference supply. +VA should also be a very clean supply and we typically use Low Dropout Regulators (LDOs) for the supplies.
