ADS8866: 0 - 2.5 V single ended conversion

Howdy!

I need to use industrial sensor for position sensing. It has 0 - 2.5V analog output. I was looking for some simple ADC capable of following parameters to digitalize the signal:

Vin = 0-2.5 V

>16 bit resolution

>10kSPS

SPI interface

I found following ADCs:

I would like to ask which is more suitable for the operation. Either to use higher resolution ADC (18bits ADS8699) with only using half of the input voltage (±2.5V using +2.5V only) OR to use single ended capable ADC with (16 bits ADS8866) with Vref 2.5V. What would you recommend?
