AMC1306E05: Which digital filter output to read for higher resolution and also higher bandwidth?

Part Number: AMC1306E05

Hi,

For achieving higher resolution and higher bandwidth simultaneously, the use of two digital filters is recommended as shown in the attached picture,

But we need to read only one output that gives both accuracy and higher bandwidth although we are having two filter outputs now. How can we read from two outputs?

Thanks.

  • Hi Naveed,

What this is saying is that you essentially have the option/path to use a lower OSR filter that provides lower latency. This path is generally used in low latency required situations such as, for example, fault detection. On the other hand, you have the option to have a higher OSR that allows for a higher ENOB.

We have an Excel filter calculator that allows you to check the settling time and ENOB for different SINC filter orders and OSRs that can be found on the product page.
