Dear all,
A very good afternoon.
I hope you all are fine and doing well. We have planned to use DAC161P997 in one of our application. Everything is working fine as required.
One thing which we are interested to know that what is the noise margins of duty cycle for a valid symbol? In datasheet, On page no. 12, it is written that a symbol is valid if its duty cycle falls outside of noise margin.
But the margins are not specified in the datsheet.
to be more specific, Our Time period of Pulse in 1ms. So for zero symbol:0.25ms ON, 0.75ms OFF are the timings.
So what margin we have around ideal time 0.25ms (0.24ms/0.26ms) to have this pulse as a valid pulse?
Please suggest on this.
Best regards,
Karan Thawani
Karan,
These timings are based on an internal timer and each of the symbols has their own timing. It is based on fractional portions of the symbol width of each of the given timing symbols for idle (D), 0, 1, and ACK. The timing is shown in Table 6.6 in the datasheet (if it's not clear in the post, click on the image to get a clearer version):
In our datasheets, the timing diagrams and specifications come nearer to the front of the datasheet (after the Electrical Characteristics Table).
