Hi Expert

my customer have three question as below:

1. could you please share the initialize register list to me? customer want to know when device power on, which register need to set?

2. based on question 1, how to read back this register to confirm register isn't problem when device finish initialization?

3. when ADC normal work, do we have fault register to judge ADC which normal work? I don't found similar register in datasheet. if we doesn't have fault register, How to confirm that the ADC is working properly ?

    Meng,

    1.  Below is a summary of the registers in excel. 

    • In short, the reset state of the mode control register is set to D15-12 = 0001 to select manual mode as the power on default.  Bits D11-D0 are set to zero.
    • The GPIO register is set to all zeros.  
    • The alarm registers do not have a default value and must be programed for operation.

    2.  There is no mechanism to read back the register programing for this device.  The ADS8168 is a more recently released device that is more sophisticated and higher resolution ( 16 bit).  The ADS8168 allows for register reading.

    3.  This device does not have any fault register or self diagnostics.  What kind of fault are you expecting to find?
