AMC60304: Miscellaneous questions

Part Number: AMC60304

Hello,

Q1:
Does AMC60304 itself automatically detect which interface, SPI or I2C, the connected master has?
There is nothing users have to care about other than just connecting either SPI or I2C?

Q2:
When RESET_, CLR_/LDAC_ and PWDWN_ pins are unused, which positive power supply voltage should they be directly connected to? If some pull-up resister also should be between them and the positive supply, please let me know the recommended values.

Q3:
With keeping RESET_, CLR_/LDAC_ and PWDWN_ pins voltage “high” by hardware mentioned above Q2, can users control the RESET, CLR, LDAC and PWDWN via register programming instead?

Q4:
When ALARM_ pin is unused, could it be floating (unconnected anywhere)? If not how should it be terminated?

Best regards,

K.Hirano

  • Hi Hirano-san,

    1. Yes, it will auto-detect and lock the communication protocol after the first successful communication frame.

    2. They can be connected to VIO if unused.  No pull-up is required.

    3. All of the HW functions have a SW equivalent that can be accessed by the register map.

    4. ALARM can be left floating if unused.

    Thanks,

    Paul
