ADC12DJ5200RFEVM: ZCU102 FMC support ADC12DJ5200RFEVM

Part Number: ADC12DJ5200RFEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSW14J58EVM, TSW14J57EVM, TI-JESD204-IP

Hello,

I have the ADC12DJ5200RFEVM board and trying to start the test.

Before starting, I have two questions.

1)  TSW14J56 EVM support ADC12DJ5200RFEVM board?

I saw FMC connector is different.

2) Is it available the Xilinx ZCU102 for testing?

ZCU102 is standard FMC with x8 GTH.

Thanks,

Kiman

  • Hi Kiman, regarding your questions:

    1. ADC12DJ5200RFEVM must use TSW14J57EVM or TSW14J58EVM. Only 8b/10b encoding modes are supported on the TSW14J57EVM up to 15Gbps. The TSW14J58EVM must be used for any 64b/66b modes.
    2.  No, the ZCU102 will not support evaluation of the ADC12DJ5200RFEVM. This is because the ZCU102 only has a standard FMC connector while the ADC12DJ5200RFEVM has a FMC+ connector (additional 4 rows of pins on connector). The ADC12DJ5200RFEVM cannot plug into any FMC connector, it must mate with an FMC+ connector.

  • Hi Chase,

Thank you so much for your quick reply.

Another way is I have VCK190(Versal) board and builtin the FMC+ connector.

    But VCK190 supports FMC+, x12 GTY ports.

Is it works with 12-bit, single channel, 8 lanes JMODE 30 and 12-bit, single channel, 8 lanes JMODE 0(8b/10b) ?

    Thanks,

    Kiman

  • Hi Kiman,

Yes, the ADC12DJ5200RFEVM should pair with the Xilinx VCK190 and these modes should be supported. Note that our TI-JESD204-IP does not yet support Versal FPGA, so the only approach to use this as the solution (as of writing this) is to utilize the Xilinx JESD204 IP, meaning all IP related issues will have to be through the Xilinx support forum. Unfortunately, I do not have a timeline on when our team will fully support the Versal in our TI-JESD204-IP.

    Regards, Chase
