DAC8771: IAVDD value on the datasheet

Genius 15980 points
Part Number: DAC8771
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8775EVM

Hello,

The below is from DAC8711 datasheet.

I would like to confirm the condition of the yellow marked value,.
Is the buck-boost disabled in this case?

And only current comsumption with 0-20mA mode is avaialble.
Is IAVDD with IOUT mode larrger than VOUT mode?  How about the I_AVDD with VOUT mode?

Regards,
Oba

  • Obata-san,

I believe this is with the positive buck-boost enabled, but the negative buck-boost disabled. In the second row of the table, the VNEG_IN is set to 0V. Creating the VNEG_IN voltage requires more current than the VPOS_IN.

The IAVDD with VOUT mode is likely very similar in current to the IOUT mode. The AVDD is the power supply for all analog circuitry of the device except the buck-boost converter and the output amplifiers. PVDD sources the current for the buck-boost and the output amplifiers for both voltage and current out.

I'll try to look at the current on the EVM, but I can't determine the exact current for either supply. In the DAC8775EVM, the AVDD and PVDD voltages are tied together on the board, and I can't directly measure each current.
