DAC101S101-Q1: INH maximum for the Serial interface

Part Number: DAC101S101-Q1

Hello,

On the datasheet there is no maximum for the VIH on the digital inputs.

On "7.4 Recommended Operating Conditions" the "Any input voltage" maximum is marked as (VA+0.1)

But remark 4 state "analog inputs" and not the digital inputs.

On the " EVM User's guide" linked on the part page the "Serial Interface" states "The range of all digital inputs is 0V to 5.25V regardless of VA"

If I use VA = 3V can I safely interface with 3.3V logic ?

Thanks

  • Hello,

The absolute maximum specs of the datasheet should not be violated. The input pins are specified to VA+0.3.

The wording is misleading, but I believe the user's guide is saying that the EVM specifically has a maximum spec for the digital inputs of 5.25V, even if VA is 5.5V. Not that the part can have a higher digital voltage than VA.

    Best,

    Katlynne Jones.
