ADS1298RECGFE-PDK: Why Analog Ground is Connected to the GND terminal of Crystal Oscillator

Hi,

I'm uncertain about the circuit configuration of the ADS1298R. I'm curious as to why there is an AGND connection instead of a DGND connection at the Crystal's Ground terminal. I've noticed that this Analog Ground is also linked to the DGND pins of the ADS1298R IC. Could anyone explain the rationale behind this setup?

Hi,

It's not necessary for AGND and DGND to be separated.

On EVM schematic, look at R74, the AGND is connected/common from TP8 Global/general/common GND from the MMB0 mother board, where DGND and AGND are shared/in common
