DAC8771: DAC8771

Part Number: DAC8771

Hi,

The DAC8771 does not have an enable pin.

I tried to limit power consumption of the DAC8771 in a basic application cirquit as shown in the datasheet paragraph 9.2.

By resetting the 0x02 and 0x07 registers ( set to 00000001 resp. 00000000) I noticed the power consumption is still very high.

Approx. 100 mA.

Is there a way to have a powerconsumption of a few milliamps when the DAC8771 is not used?

Your answer is appreciated

Joost

  • Hi Joost,

Can you provide a schematic of your circuit? Are you using other components than the DAC8771?

When using the DAC8771EVM, I see around 1.6 mA when the DAC is either HW or SW reset.

When the internal reference and the output are enabled, but not the Buck-Boost, there is around 2.7 mA.

    Thanks,
    Lucas
