ADS1298: Analog high-pass filter recommended values ranges

Part Number: ADS1298

Hi,

I am willing to implement a basic analog high-pass filter to start removing DC offset and very low frequencies (~0.05Hz).

In the evaluation board (SBAU181B, https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sbau181b/sbau181b.pdf?ts=1695607433684, page 62), there are available footprints to implement this HPF (C85, R32, C78, R12, etc...) : what are the recommended values ranges for R & C in order to keep the system operating well (input impedance, etc..) ?

Thank you

Best Regards,

Paul-Alexandre,

  • Hi,

However, TI doesn't have particular suggestion for high pass filter design, as these may still also depend on customers' products, electrodes and components' impedance tolerance/deviation(which may affect CMRR and SNR) and/or other regulation requirements.

For start, one may start with 10k, 20k, 40k or Mega ohm resistors and based on these resistance and the desired cutoff frequency, to find and tune the capacitors.

Again, users will need to do tests, data collection&analysis and V&V before making decision.

    Thanks
