I have a SENSE value on an Infineon BTS7004 (Infineon-BTS7004-1EPP-DS-v01_10-EN ) that may have a value of VS=12V to as high as 13.5V and I wonder if there are any TI ADC that would support a VREF of that and yet work on an I2C bus on a LAUNCHCC3235MOD or something that could reduce signal to 0-1.8v range for a on chip ADC?

Hi Malcolm,

Unfortunately we do not have any I2C devices that can accept a 12V input. Most of them will top out at 5V, so you could do a resistive divider and scale your 12V to 5V. You can find a list of parts that might work for you here:

I am more software person, so I will ask question about Mikro proFET 15 circuit. Is the voltage off of IS in the circuit transformed to a lower voltage by the connected elements?

Hi Malcolm,

I'm not familiar with the proFET device, but from what I can see in their datasheet, the IS pin is monitoring the current to the load. It is not monitoring the VS supply, which is what I thought you wanted to do.

Page 7 of datasheet I thought implies maximum value on IS pin is VS?

The IS pin sources current and then a voltage is developed over Rsense. The Ris_prot and Dz1 limit the voltage seen by the ADC on the microcontroller.

So I should measure under no and full load to see if less than 1.8V?
