AMC3306M25: How to read the digital out of AMC3306M25

Part Number: AMC3306M25
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC3336EVM,

Hi,

We are using AMC3336EVM. we provided 20MHz clock and 0V input and we are trying to sample the digital out data. We have some queries related this, that are listed below.

1. At every positive edge of clock, we need to sample the Digital out (DOUT)data
from AMC3306M25? or negative edge of clock or both edges we need to sample.
2.After how many clock cycles digital out data (DOUT) is valid.

please let us know about this.

  • Hi Siddharth,

The output of the AMC3306M25 is a bit-stream, with valid data on the falling clock edge.  You need to use a digital filter to decimate the bit-stream in order to obtain a valid conversion result.  The digital filter could be designed in an FPGA or you could use a processor that has a dedicated Sigma Delta Filter Module (SDFM) peripheral to do the decimation.
