DAC3482: Datasheet questions

Part Number: DAC3482
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK04808

Dear Team,

Can you please help with the customers questions below

  1. What will be the right TSW platform to demo the DAC3482EVM ?
  2. Customer wanted to highlight multiple mistakes found on the DAC3482 datasheet. Can you please review and comment ?
Does the device has JESD or LVDS ? in some pictures it appears as JESD in some LVDS. In some pictures we show typical application with LMK0482x. Is this required in LVDS case ?

3. Can you please help clarify the calculation for the 'lowest image frequency' and 'Distance from band of interest' on the interpolation tables below ?

Regards,

Nir

  • Hello Nir,

What will be the right TSW platform to demo the DAC3482EVM ?

You can use the TSW1400 platform, which provides LVDS data stream to the DAC3482 EVM

Customer wanted to highlight multiple mistakes found on the DAC3482 datasheet. Can you please review and comment ?

The SerDes JESD204 remark is indeed a mistake. We will include them in the update. Thank you.

The customer may use clocking devices without SYSREF support like the LMK04808

    In regards to the following:

In order to support 100MHz of BW, the interface rate is set to 245.76MSPS. The 245.76MSPS of interface rate is effective 200MHz of bandwidth. In order to support 200MHz of BW at the DAC output rate, the DAC must sample at least 400MSPS.

    3. Can you please help clarify the calculation for the 'lowest image frequency' and 'Distance from band of interest' on the interpolation tables below ?

It is best simplified from the diagram below. Please refer to the app note below also.

  • Hi Kang,

    Thanks for your response.

TSW1400EVM is out of stock and is not available anymore. So does TSW1406EVM.

Which FPGA board should we use to operate the DAC3482EVM ?

    Regards,

    Nir.

  • Nir

The TSW1400 and TSW1406 are the primarily FPGA EVMs for the DAC3482

would you be able to comment the lead time for the TSW1400EVM?
