AMC131M03: DC measurements (current and voltage) possible?

Part Number: AMC131M03

Dear,

Is DC measurements (current and voltage) possible with this device? I would like to measure accurately 800V en 6A.

Thank you!

  • Hi John,

Yes, you should be able to measure current and voltage for your 800V, 6A system.

For the voltage measurement you will need to use a voltage divider and feed the output into one of the AMC131M03's channels.  You will want to choose your voltage divider such that the power losses are low and the voltage going into the AMC device covers it's input full-scale range.

For the current measurement you can use a shunt resistor and measure the voltage across it with another channel of the AMC131M03.  You will also want to pick a shunt resistor value that minimizes your power losses while taking advantage of the AMC131's full-scale range.
